Space Centre Visit
Well done to all the Scouts, & Cubs, who came on the visit to the National Space Centre in Leicester on Sunday 15th November. A great time was had by all and you all finished your Astronomy Badge.
It was a pleasure to take such a well behaved group of Scouts, particularly thanks to Rhianne and Charlie from the Cub pack who completed there astronautics badge.
What are Scouts
Scouts are young people aged between 10½ and 14 years old. They belong to the third and most adventurous section in our group. Boys and girls can join Scouts from 8. They can move to the next Section, Scouts, between 10½ and 11 years.
Scouts, or boys scouts as it was, was the first section to be created back in 2007 by our founder Sir Robert Baden-Powell.
What do we do?
Scouts meet once a week at our headquarters known as "the cube". A group of Scouts is known as a troop, therefore we are called Chilvers Coton Scout Troop. Our Troop is divided into patrols of no more than, 6 people in each. Each Patrol is named after a Bird of Prey.
What do we wear?
Scouts wear a smart uniform that includes a dark green shirt and smart trousers. Blue scout trousers are available but are strictly optional. The scarlet group necker is worn with either a brown leather woggle, or a special occasion or award woggle.
