Religious Policy

Scouting for all!
The Scout Movement includes Members of many different forms of religion. The following policy has received the approval of the heads of the leading religious bodies in the United Kingdom. All Members of the Movement are encouraged to:
- Make every effort to progress in the understanding and observance of the Promise to do their best to do their duty to God;
- Belong to some religious body;
- Carry into daily practice what they profess.
At Chilvers Coton Scout Group we must remember that "the Cube" is a community building owned, managed and maintained by the Methodist Circuit of Nuneaton and Atherstone. The Methodist circuit are fully supportive of full integration of all religions into the activities and groups that take place at "the cube".
All Leaders and instructors will take into consideration the requirements and necessity of all relgions, when planning the programme of activities to ensure that no one is ever excluded or unavailable due to religious obligations.
Scouts' Own Services
Scouts' Own Services may be held for the worship of God and to promote a fuller understanding of the significance of the Scout Promise and Law.
Such services are supplementary to, rather than a substitute for, formal attendance at the services of the individual's own form of religion.
Any issues affecting your child please talk to the section leader or Group Scout Leader.
